Lady Devils Drop Close One To Rivendell

Williamstown’s Lady Devils dropped the only game that they were able to play last week. The Girls of the Blue &White fell to Rivendell 40-39 in a heartbreaker last Wednesday night at the Parks Gym and their record slipped to 3-7. There were two games scheduled for last week but nasty weather forced a postponement of the Cannan at Williamstown contest scheduled for Friday night.

The Williamstown Boy’s basketball won one and lost one last week and had one game snowed out. On Tuesday the Blue Devil Boys travelled to Thetford and came home with an impressive 60-39 victory. On Thursday they hosted Rivendell and got a lesson in high -speed tactics as they fell to the Raptors 75-64. After last weeks action the Boys of the Blue and White stand at 8-2.

Northfield’s Lady Marauder basketball team leveled their record at 6 up and 6 down with a pair of home wins last week – two very different style home wins.The Girls of the Maroon & White found a way to squeek by peoples Academy 36-35 last Wednesday night and on Saturday afternoon they rolled over Stowe 30-12.

LAST WEEK our sports teams were all home for what was a big sports weekend here at Norwich. This week the teams hit the road. Women’s basketball gets the week underway Wednesday when they travel to Saint Joseph (Conn.) for a 7pm start time.

One February 2nd, Groundhog’s Day, the men’s basketball team follows its shadow to Mount Ida for a 6pm tipoff.
