The Northfield News

Cooking classes will be held in private homes in Montpelier in November and December.

Pasture raised poultry, storage staple rutabagas and turnips, and everyone's favorite fall comfort food will be featured along with pumpkin.

Classes are from 5-8 pm on Saturday, November 15th and Saturday, December 13.

Montpelier chef Susan Reid will lead these classes that offer a hands-on learning experience, and end with a sit-down, familystyle meal.

The cost is $20 per class, or three community credits plus a $5 ingredient fee per class for members of the Onion River Exchange.

Susan's proposed menus include braised lamb or goat in November, along with varied brussel sprout dishes and seasonal pies.

For questions or to enroll in one or both of the cooking classes, email shelby@ruralvermont.org or call 802/223.7222. Registration forms are also available for download on the website www.ruralvermont.org.
