TO THE EDITOR, THE NORTHFIELD NEWS: AS HOCKEY IS a very popular sport here in town, I wanted to let you and the community know that there is a new hockey team in town. As sometimes it is difficult to get tickets to the Norwich Men's hockey games, this is an opportunity for the community to see great hockey for free!!!!

Norwich University Men's Club Hockey is embarking on its' inaugural year this year. They had two games last weekend, the first vs. Lyndon State College in which they won 11-6, and the second game on Sunday vs. Castleton State College in which they won 14-1. The level of hockey is incredible to watch as the kids on this team are very talented. They have games this weekend, on Saturday they playin S. Burlington vs. St. Mike's JV team and on Sunday they are home vs. Tufts at Kreitzburg. There are several local players on the team from schools such as Northfield, Spaulding, and Harwood, in addition to other players from across the country and Canada. Their head coach is Jeff Wuorinen and their assistant coaches as former Norwich stand-out Eric Ouellette, and John Lupo.

Thank you for your time and I hope that the Northfield News can come out to see a game.

ELIZABETH C. WUORINEN, PH.D
Assistant Professor
