Bernice Pierson Cadorette, 85, Great Cook

Bernice Pierson Cadorette, 85, long time resident on Cox Brook Road, died Friday, March 20, 2009 at the Central Vermont Hospital in Berlin. She was born in West Topsham, May 1, 1923, the daughter of Henry & Cora (Morris o n ) Hutchins. She attended Orange, Barre and Northfield Schools, graduating in 1943.

She married Charles R. Pierson in Weymouth, Massachusetts on June 21, 1944. Mr. Pierson died November 3, 1993.

She married Rosario Cadorette in Northfield on September 25, 1999.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and Northfield Senior Citizens. She loved to work the annual Methodist Church Strawberry Festival, berry picking, the outdoors, and working on the family farm. S hewas also well known for her baked beans, blueberry pies as well as being the family historian and matriarch.

Survivors include her husband, Rosario of Northfield Falls; three children, Kay Matheson and her husband, Stanley, David Pierson and his wife, Vicki, Nancy Hall and her husband, James, all of Northfield Falls; three step children, Susan Nolan and her husband, Robert of Sandwich, Massachusetts, Sally Crowell of Wichita, Kansas, Patricia Beach of Fryeburg, Maine; three brothers, Albert of S. Barre, Lawrence of Plainfield, Orbert Hutchins of Barre; eight grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her first husband, Charlie, she is predeceased by ten siblings, Henry, Lloyd, Claude, Kenneth, Marshall, Martyn Hutchins, Bertha Peake, Mary Robertson, Evelyn Cilley and Mildred Kaiser.

A funeral service was held at the Northfield United Methodist Church. Burial will take place this spring in the Northfield Falls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Central Vermont Home Health, 600 Granger Road, Berlin, VT 05641.
