March 25

9:51 a.m. - Animal Problem - Police assisted by a State Game Warden responded to Smith Hill Road for a report of two dogs chasing deer. The dogs were identified and the owner of the dog was issued a Vermont Municipal Ticket for his dogs running at large and in violation of the Northfield Animal Control Ordinance. In addition, a written warning for the dogs chasing the deer was issued by the State Game Warden.

12:22 p.m. - Threatening - Police initiated a "Bulling" investigation based upon a complaint made by a Northfield High School student. In addition to the bulling at school the student further advised that the bulling is continuing over the computer and also cell phone text. Police are awaiting sworn written statements from the victim prior to any enforcement action is taken.

9:50 p.m. - Agency Assistance - Police responded with Northfield Ambulance to a residence on Cross Street for a medical emergency with a belligerent male at the residence. When Police arrived with rescue, it was discovered that the male did not want to go to the hospital and was not

being belligerent. There was no further involvement by police at this incident.

March 26

9:55 a.m. - Citizen Dispute - Police started an investigation following a citizens complaint concerning a matter of disorderly conduct in which another person was using offensive and threatening language towards the citizen. An arrest is pending.

12:59 p.m. - Animal Problem - The department advised that a dog is left in a park vehicle every day. The caller gave the plate number of the vehicle and location. An officer responded to the area and confirmed that there was a dog in the vehicle. The dog was very content to be in the vehicle and was not in distress from heat or lack of water. The officer left his card on the windshield and spoke with the operator of the vehicle later in the day.

March 27

2:19 a.m. - Family Fight/Domestic - An officer responded to a residence on Cemetery Street for the report of a family fight. Upon arrival the officer spoke with the parties involved, and arranged a temporary understanding and agreement to separate the parties for the remainder of the night.

7 a.m. - Animal Problem - A complaint was made by a resident concerning a neighbors dog running at large onto his property on Vine Street. Contact was made with the dog owner and a written warning notice was issued.

9 a.m. - Citizen Assist - Police took a complaint from a resident who had sap buckets removed from the maple trees he had them hung on to collect sap.

March 28

8:05 a.m. - Suspicious Person/ Circumstance - A resident of Summer Street called to report seeing a suspicious male on Thursday. The complainant advised he knew the male. He stated he watched the male as he appeared to be trying to get into an empty apartment on Western Avenue. The complainant later requested Notices Against Trespass be served on the male and his girlfriend for his own property.

1:58 p.m. - Parking Problem - Police responded to the area of Central Street for a report of parked vehicles creating a unsafe traffic hazard. With the assistance of Norwich Security, attempts were made to contact the owners of several vehicle parked in the traveled portion of the roadway. One vehicle was towed to insure public safety on the roadway and two others were given tickets.

4:36 p.m. - Custodial Interference - Police responded to the station to stand by while a child custody exchange took place. The matter was dealt with and the parties went on their way after the child exchange took place without incident.

7:34 p.m. - Citizen Dispute - Police responded to a residence on Belknap Street for a citizen dispute. One of the tenants felt as though she was being denied access to her unit and that her cat was in danger. Both parties were spoken to and no further police action was necessary.

March 29

1:35 a.m. - Alcohol Offense - Officers conducted a traffic stop on South Main Street. During the stop officers identified some passengers who were under the age of 21, and had been consuming alcohol. Officers issued them referrals to the Washington County Teen Alcohol Safety Program.

3:19 p.m. - Accident PD - Police responded to Dickinson Drive for a report of a minor motor vehicle collision. Upon arrival, it was determined that a vehicle had backed out of a driveway and accidentally struck a vehicle parked at the roadside. Both vehicle sustained minor damage as a result of the collision. An accident report was completed for both operators.

March 30 4:21 p.m. - Suspicious Person/ Circumstance - Police Department received a report of suspicious drug activity at the Northfield High School on Cross Street. Police conducted an interview with the individual involved, and learned that prescription pills were exchanged with another student in a classroom. Charges will be filed in juvenile court. 7:17 p.m. - Suspicious Person/ Circumstance - Police responded to a residence on Vine Street for a suspicious incident. A resident reported that his daughter was riding her bicycle when a neighbor stopped her and took the bicycle away. The neighbor claimed the bicycle was stolen from her residence about 2 month ago. The police department seized the bicycle and an investigation is underway.

March 31 10:28 a.m. - MV Complaint - Police received a report of a motor vehicle complaint on Vermont Route 12N. It was advised that a vehicle exiting the Grand Union parking lot nearly collided with the complainants vehicle. The complainant took the vehicle's information and license plate, which were then provided to the Police. Police then followed up with the operator of the vehicle about the unsafe operation of his vehicle. 4:33 p.m. - Unlawful Mischief - The department that their vehicle had been vandalized while parked on Pearl Street. The officer is investigating and would be interested in talking with anyone that may have seen the vandalism happen. 485- 9181.
