Kim L. Jenkins, 68, Killed in Auto Accident

Kim L. Jenkins, 68, of East Roxbury Road died Friday, April 3, 2009 in Williamstown from injuries received in an automobile accident. He was born in Barre Oct 16, 1940, the son of Horace P.A. and Olive Betsy (Johnson) Jenkins. He graduated from Spaulding High School in 1958.

He was a machinist and tool maker and had been employed by several area businesses including Middlesex Fire Equipment Co. located in Montpelier, Hayward Tyler Nuclear Pump in South Burlington and New World Power in Waitsfield.

Mr. Jenkins was a proud member of AA and also enjoyed fishing, especially salmon fishing, hunting, his pets, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Jenkins had been married to Isabel Ashford and later married Virginia Ann Paton who died Feb 9, 2008. Surviving are 5 children, Shawn Jenkins and his wife, Leslie of Brandenburg, KY, Tammy Jenkins of Burlington, Dawn Kirgan and her long time companion, Jon Jablonski of Ashley, IL, Cary Jenkins of Montpelier and Scott Jenkins and his companion, Heather Codling of Northfield Falls, a sister, Colleen Wilfore of Naples FL; 15 grandchildren, Joseph Jenkins, Jessica Jenkins of KY, Jeremy Jenkins and Joshua Jenkins, both of Montpelier, Michael Smith, Lindsay Smith, Jarrod Smith, Anthony Kirgan, Elijah Kirgan, Asia Todd and Janelle Jablonski, all of IL, Benjamin Jenkins of Montpelier, Shaleen Jenkins, Rachel Jenkins and Cody Barkley of Northfield and one great grandchild, Ava Marie; and 2 nieces.

He is predeceased by 2 grandchildren, Julie Isabel MacKenzie Jenkins and Jason Lee Smith.

A private funeral service will be conducted at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Vermont Humane Society, P.O. Box 687, Montpelier, VT 05601.
