NU Men's Lacrosse Smashes Green Mountain
POULTNEY - Kyle Marzeoti scored four goals and added three assists, and Tyler Nicoll and Kevin Young each tallied three goals apiece to lift the Norwich University men's lacrosse team past Green Mountain College, 15-8, Wednesday afternoon.
It marked the first victory of the season for the Cadets, who improve their overall record to 1- 4. The Eagles, meanwhile, fall to 1-7 on the year.
Norwich jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first quarter as the Cadets scored three markers late in the stanza. NU scored the first four goals of the second quarter to build a 7-0 lead.
The Eagles got on the board late in the second quarter to trim the Norwich lead to 7-1 at halftime. GMC then rattled off seven third period goals to pull to within 11-8 heading into the final 15 minutes.
The Cadets' defense stood tall in the fourth quarter, though, limiting the Eagles to just two shots in the frame.
Max Talsky led Green Mountain with four goals and two assists. Tom Wheeler added one goal and two assists for the Eagles. Keith Drinkwine made 11 saves in the GMC goal.
Norwich goalkeeper Nathan Proctor made six stops in the victory.
