NORTHFIELD POLICE REPORT
June 17
2:25 a.m. - Intoxicated Person - Police responded to the area of Parsons lane and Rt. 12 South for an intoxicated person stumbling near the roadway. The subject was located and refused any help from police.
9 a.m. - Suspicious Person/Circumstance - Police were informed of a possible juvenile exploitation situation. DCF was notified and a investigation has commenced.
4:40 p.m. - Suspicious Person/ Circumstance - Police were informed that a used hypodermic needle was found by a young child. The needle was found to be capped.
6:49 p.m. - Citizen Assist - An officer responded to a residence on South Main Street to assist a woman who is in the process of a divorce, and who is the subject of an abuse prevention order retrieve some personal property from her former residence. The officer assisted by escorting her into the property while she gathered some things. The officer then left without incident.
9:33 p.m. - Noise Disturbance - An officer responded to Wallace Road for the report of a noise complaint. Upon arrival the officer checked the area, and waited for approximately 20 minutes without hearing any noise.
11:04 p.m. - Suspicious Person/ Circumstance - A resident of Fairway drive called to report seeing a suspicious vehicle traveling onto private property. The complainant advised the vehicle had been up in the private lot for about half an hour. The officer was unable to locate the suspicious vehicle.
June 18
12:18 p.m. - Suspicious Person/ Circumstance - Police responded to a complaint of an unwanted guest at a residence. The unwanted guest had left prior to the arrival of police.
June 19
6:24 a.m. - Noise Disturbance - An officer received a report of a noise complaint from a resident of Pleasant Street. The complainant advised her neighbor was playing loud music. The officer was unable to locate any music or unreasonable noise.
1:48 p.m. - Suspicious Person/ Circumstance - Police started an investigation concerning the sexual abuse of a child based upon an intake from DCF.
2:57 p.m. - Citizen Dispute - Police responded to a residence in which the property owners had separated. One of the owners had a friend over who the other property owner did not like and wanted the subject removed. Advised the complainant that it was not a law violation of trespass as the other property owner has the right to have whom ever they wanted in the house.
3:37 p.m. - Animal Noise - Police investigated the location and reason of a dog barking for a long period of time inside a residence. Upon arrival, the residence was found to be vacant at the time, and the dog was heard barking. A short time later contact was made with a resident of the home. They were advised of the situation, who agreed to take steps to end the dog barking.
June 20
5:10 a.m. - Property Damage, Non Vandalism - A citizen of Vt Rt 12a reported that sometime in the early morning a vehicle had driven on the lawn and damaged a railing of a fence. The officers had in custody an offender with a vehicle that had recently been damaged. The car parts on the callers lawn matched the missing pieces of the vehicle of the offender. The charge of Leaving the scene of the accident were added to the defendant's Unlawful Trespasses and DUI.
11:52 a.m. - Citizen Dispute - Police received a report of a citizen dispute in the Northfield Falls Trailer Park. Upon arrival, the parties had separated. Upon investigation, Police gathered statements and determined that the altercation was verbal in nature. Police are continuing to investigate the incident in the event criminal charges are brought forth.
4:11 p.m. - MV Complaint - Police responded to Winch Hill Road for a report of speeding vehicles. The caller thought that the vehicles were coming from an event was taking place nearby and felt that the vehicles were traveling above the posted speed limit. Police patrolled the area, but did not have any contact with vehicles exceeding the posted speed limit.
10:41 p.m. - Noise Disturbance - Officers responded to the area of the Northfield Falls Trailer park for the report of a noise complaint. Upon arrival officers spoke with a resident who was hosting a party. She was cautioned about the Northfield.
June 21
1:03 a.m. - Suspicious Person/ Circumstance - Police responded to the report of a rolling domestic on VT RT 12 near Norwich. A passenger was having an argument with other people in the car. He was intoxicated and upset over family issues. He agreed to calm down and let his girlfriend take him home.
7:14 a.m. - Accident PD - Police responded to a one vehicle accident on the Bean Road in Northfield Vermont. When Police arrived, they observed a white 2004 Chevy sedan lodged into a ditch. The female operator advised that she swerved to avoid a deer and was unable to maintain control of the vehicle. The vehicle sustained approximately $4000.00 in damages and was towed by North Main Service. There are no reported injuries.
June 22
2:15 a.m. - Noise Disturbance - Police responded to a noise complaint on Rt 12 A. The complainant advised a neighbors dog had been barking for hours and he could not sleep. A note was left for the dog owner as no one would come to the door.
June 23
12:23 a.m. - Noise Disturbance - Police responded to Mayo Clinic for a noise disturbance. Some people had gathered in the parking lot and were making too much noise. Upon arrival the people and vehicles had left the area.
7:49 p.m. - Threatening - Police responded to the Northfield Falls Trailer Park due to an altercation that took place in the roadway. Three residents got into an argument in the street concerning young kids playing in the roadway and vehicles driving too fast in the park. An investigation into the threats and residents actions is underway.
