The Northfield News

On Saturday, July 18 there will be a day-long sale of used vinyl records, CDs, VHS tapes, thrift items and the like at the Unitarian Church at 130 Main Street in Montpelier.

The sale is being organized as a fund-raiser by the Onion River Exchange, Central Vermont's partner in a national network of time banking/service exchange organizations where people exchange services and goods for "community credits" instead of money.

The donation of used records, CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes has been on-going from Barre to Burlington since April in anticipation of this first-of-its-kind community event. The sale promises to offer estute collectors, and music enthusiasts of all stripes a wide array of selections in all formats representing jazz, blues, rock, soul , gospel, show tunes, children's albums and more as well as pre-owned movies in all genres. Most items will sell for $2.

Doors open at 9:30 am. and end at 4:30 p.m.

The Onion River Exchange began in Montpelier in 2008 and today boasts more than 250 members. It is part of a national network of community time banking organizations and the fastest growing time bank in the nation.
