Safety Day Is This Saturday, July 18, At The Fire Station

This year, Safety Day is Saturday, July 18 and will be held behind the fire house on Wall Street. This year's Safety Day 2009 will be held this Saturday, July 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. behind the Firehouse.
There will be hot dogs, sodas and ice cream.
Safety Day, hosted by Northfield's Emergency Services, will include numerous exhibits and demonstrations. Free smoke detectors will be distributed as long as supplies last.
Additionally, there will be a safety seat check in the parking lot of Bean Chevrolet.
Free activities scheduled include children's identification kits, face painting, fire extinguisher service checks, blood pressure screening, glucose checks, fire engine tours, and the fire safety house.
Demonstrations will include vehicle extrication, haz-mat response team, fire extinguishers, and the Pemberton Racing Team.
Last year, Safety Day received the 2008 Governor's Award for Outstanding Volunteer Community Service.
