Fractal, Northfield Band, Entertains On The Common
Photo by Mary Comiskey, The Northfield News The local Northfield group Fractal played for an excited crowd last Tuesday at Summer on the Common. Wilson Hagen plays sax and the harmonica, Lorraine Monmaney played the keyboard, Gordon Wobby guitar and vocals as well as bongo drums, Pat Barrett plays the drums, Zach Budgor is lead guitar and Jeff Perry also plays lead guitar and sings. The next concert is this coming Tuesday on the Common at 7 p.m. The Common rocked when the musical group, Fractal, entertained the townsfolk assembled for the second part of Northfield's Summer on the Common. The musicians, under the leadership of Northfield High School Music teacher, Lorraine Monmaney, played a variety of music by several artists including Led Zeplin and Ray Charles.
Members of the group are Wilson Hagen playing the Sax and harmonica. Gordon Wobby played the guitar and the bongo drums. He was also a vocalist. Pat Barrett was the drummer. The lead guitar was played by Zach Budgor. Jeff Perry specializes in vocals and played the guitar. Lorraine Monmaney played the keyboard.
The band began as a special music class this last school year. The boys earned academic credit for their participation. They will continue to play together during the summer.
Their next appearance on the Common will be a Booster Club Fundraiser to benefit the Music Department.
The group will perform on Saturday evening, August 8, from 6:00-10:00 P.M. Food will be available and everyone will be invited to dance!
