"Ok, so we are climbing the Auto road [up Mount Washington], and my ST is getting hot.

"To my glee I spot a bear off to the side of the road clearly in need of its picture taken. What better excuse to just stop in the middle of the road and shut my poor over heating bike down.

"As soon as I shut off the engine she starts puffing and fuming up an antifreeze cloud fit to choke a New Hampshire mosquito.

"The bear IMMEDIATELY perks her nose straight up in the air and starts walking toward me.

"My husband was right behind me with the camera rolling.

"She took about 10 steps my way and out of the woods pops this little rolly polly puff ball.

"Said puff ball could not have weighed more than 10 Lbs.

"Ohhh, she's got a cub and she's walking right at me.

"There was a poof of anti freeze in the air above my bike. The mother crossed the road in front of me... And comes back out with two cubs!!! Ohhh God help me she has twins and she is STILL walking toward me. She first sniffed all around my head light...the source of antifreeze smell.

"I sat motionless, death grip on my handle bars, while Mike says "I am getting some great photos" All I could think of was..."She's gonna EAT ME!" Then she went behind the bike where my highly trained guard/attach fish was ready for her. The problem was the fish were tucked into a bag full of food.

First Mike yells.."stabilize your bike" followed by..."start your engine", while he was beeping his horn. The engine starting thing was a problem. My key was turned off, and a chisel could not have freed my hand from the handle bars....

"And how am I going to stabilize this bike with a hand not on the bars...and did I mention....SHE'S GONNA EAT ME!!!!! The bears eventually walked away. Relief!"
