NORTHFIELD POLICE REPORT

September 9

08:15 a.m.-Citizen Assist- - Police responded to Central- Street to perform a child seat installation.

8:16 a.m.- Police responded to the Northfield Country Club for a report of a burglary that occurred during the night. The thief entered through an unlocked door and made off with the cash register. The register was recovered and it is not known if istill works due because it was outside in the very heavy dew.

1:34 p.m.- VIN Inspection - Police verified a vehicles identification number for a citizen.

3:18 p.m.- Theft - Police responded to Trombley's Trailer Park to a report of a stolen child's Power Wheels 4-wheeler. The toy is described as looking like a Polaris 4-wheeler that is red and black in color.

4:16 p.m.- Unlawful Mischief Police responded to Trombley's

Trailer Park for a report of vandalism to a motor vehicle. The complainant advised that he did not know when or where the vandalism took place but wanted a report on file for the insurance company. The complainant estimated the damageto his vehicle to be approximately $325.00.

6:51 p.m. - Juvenile Problem - Police responded to the Northfield Falls Trailer Park for the report of a juvenile riding an illegal motorcycle (moped) on the streets. The juvenile was located and given information on how to register the vehicle and told not to operate the Vehicle on the roadway until that was complete.

6:59 p.m. - Suspicious Person/ Circumstance - Police responded to the area of Central Street for the report of college students being pulled behind a car on skateboards. A license plate was obtained and the owner of the vehicle has been located on the Norwich Campus.

7:40 p.m. - Assault - Police responded to Norwich University for a reported assault. A female student was struck in the head with a water balloon. The student believes the balloon was shot with a sling shot from a dorm room window. Norwich Security was attempting to locate the responsible students. Due to the seriousness of the incident the female student wanted to file a police report.

September 10

11:41 a.m.- Unlawful Mischief - a citizen of Northfield reported that sometime over the previous weekend the tires on their son's vehicle had been slashed while parked at a residence on School Street.

6:13 p.m. - Juvenile Problem - The Northfield Police Department received a phone call from a concerned parent. Her son had been threatened by two other juveniles. An officer will make contact with the paents making the threats and advise them of the situation.

00:47 a.m. - Unsecured Premise -while conducting routine property checks Police found a business that had been left unsecured. A check of the premise was made and determined that entry had not been gained.

September 11

8:00 a.m. - Theft -Police received a report that a person(s) unknown had entered a woman's vehicle while it was parked at the Gray Building. She said that a sum of money was taken from the vehicle. Anyone with information concerning who is entering vehicles and removing cash and/or other items is encouraged to contact the Northfield Police Department.

11:36 p.m. - Accident - Police Department responded to a one vehicle accident on Union Brook Road. The driver swerved to avoid hitting a deer and drove off the road. No one was injured in the accident.

September 12

12:24 a.m. - Controlled Substance Problem - Police responded to the Norwic Security Department to assist them in an investigation concerning the possession of items in violation of the University rules as well as Vermont State Law.

8:35 a.m.-Safety Seat Inspection - Police assisted with a child safety seat inspection station at the Berlin Mall.

2:40 p.m.- Theft - The Police Department received a report of a stolen bicycle from Water Street. The complainant advised that the bicycle was last seen around 10 p.m. the night prior. The bicycle is described as a pink and white Huffy. If anyone has seen or knows the whereabouts of the bicycle They are urged to contact the Northfield Police Department at 802-485- 9181.

7:46 p.m. - Juvenile Problem - Police responded to Dog Wood Glen for a juvenile problem. Police met with the parents and the juvenile. was necessary.

11:02 p.m.- Noise Disturbance - Police responded to a noise complaint on Western Avenue. Upon arrival officers were unable to hear any noise.

September 13

12:28 a.m. - Noise Disturbance - Police were contacted concerning anoise disturbance at a residence within the village. Upon investgation by thepolice, no noise or activity could be detected.

3:54 p.m. - Alarm -Police Department responded to University Drive for a report of an alarm activation. It was advised that a vault alarm had been tripped at the VT National Guard armory. Minutes later, the alarm company called back and advised that personnel at the armory had accidentally activated the alarm and that no police response was needed.operating a vehicle.

5:26 p.m. - Assault - Police Department received a report of an assault that had occurred on North Main Street. Police responded to the location and met with a witness who recounted the event. Police attempted to contact the complainant, and left a message asking him to call.

September 14

9:17 a.m. - Suspicious Person/ Circumstance - Police responded to Plaza Drive for a report of a suspicious circumstance. Police photographed evidence at the scene. It was believed that someone may have attempted to gain access to the building.

10:16 a.m. - Suspicious Person/ Circumstance -, Police received a report of a suspicious circumstance surrounding a parked motor vehicle on Central Street. Police took the information from the complainant, and since the incident had occurred overnight, the appropriate night shift Officers were advised of the complaint.

2:02 p.m. - Accident - Police responded to East Street for a report of a motor vehicle collision. Upon arrival, Police found that two vehicles had backed into one another. Police took photographs of the scene and damage to both vehicles, and completed a crash report for the operators involved in the collision. 2of wants and warrants. Police assisted the owner of the vehicle with the completed the appropriate DMV paperwork.

5:20 p.m.- Assault - An officer was called to Western Avenue for a reported assault. Statements are being collected and interviews are being conducted.

11:40 p.m. - Noise Disturbance - An Officer responded to a noise complaint at a residence on Central Street. Upon his arrival he could not hear and them of the complaint.They advised they would find an kep the noise down

September 15

1:18 p.m. - Theft - Police received a call from a Northfield resident reporting that he was missing items from his vehicle. A record was made of the report so the property could be entered into the National Crime Information Center if there were serial numbers to identify the items.
