NORTHFIELD POLICE REPORT

September 16

4:04 p.m. - Suspicious Person/ Circumstance - Police responded to Crescent Ave for a report of a male persons lying in the roadway. Police found the male to be extremely intoxicated and he had a BAC of .312%. Police took the male to his brothers residence at Dog Wood Glen to sleep to sleep it off.

6:55 p.m. - Burglary - An officer responded to a residence on Elm Street for the report of a larceny. The complainant advised someone had entered the residence and taken a quantity of alcohol. The complainant advised this had happed a few weeks ago, and she believed she knew who did it. The officer will speak with the accused.

11:33 p.m. - Suspicious Person/ Circumstance - A resident of Vermont Route 12A called to report hearing two gun shots. The complainant advised this was disturbing to him. He advised he believed he knew where the shots came from. The officer spoke with another nearby resident and advised him of the complaint. The neighbor advised he was protecting some livestock from a prowling fox.

September 17

9:43 a.m. - 911 Hangup Call - Police received a call about a fugitive from justice. The caller wanted to know what this person needed to do to clear the arrest warrants. Police encouraged her to convince this person to turn himself in. The person in question is Jason Vilbrin, age 34 and he has outstanding arrest warrants.

September 18

8:41 a.m. - Threatening - A complaint came into the police department requesting assistance concerning phone calls that he had been receiving. Upon investigation I learned that a third party was involved who did not want the complainant to talk with her. The second party was advising the complainant not to call the women. A written letter advising the complainant that he was not to have any contact with the third party was served.

11:26 p.m. - Citizen Assist - An officer responded to the municipal building to meet with a citizen who wanted to report a parking problem. The officer met with the complainant, who advised the operator was belligerent when asked to move his vehicle. The officer attempted to resolve the issue, but the offending vehicle had been moved and not enough information was provided to identify the vehicle.

1:20 p.m. - Fraud - An officer responded to a local business who reported being a victim of fraud. I met with an employee who detailed a business transaction which occurred online and was discovered to be fraudulent. The officer contacted the local FBI office, and the investigation was referred to their Internet computer crimes center task force, at www.ic3.gov.

2:10 p.m. - Suspicious Person/ Circumstance - An officer responded to a residence on Winch View Drive for the report of a suspicious vehicle. The officer responded and located the vehicle at a residence. The officer spoke with a resident who advised the vehicle belonged to a contractor who was doing work at the residence.

4:27 p.m. - Agency Assistance - An officer responded to a residence on Wall Street to assist the Northfield Volunteer Ambulance Service with a patient. Assistance was provided, and the officer returned to normal duties.

5:25 p.m. - Citizen Dispute - An officer responded to the report of a citizens dispute. The complainant had left the area, and I met her at her residence. She advised she had gotten into a verbal dispute with a resident of Vine Street over a parking issue. The complainant advised while leaving the other party stuck a window of her car. I spoke with all parties involved to mediate the incident.

September 19

1 a.m. - Noise Disturbance - Police arrested a man, age 22 of Brookfield Vermont for Enabling a minor to consume alcohol. Police were dispatched to a noise complaint and made contact with the man. One of the guests at his residence was under 21 and had been consuming alcohol. The man was issued a citation to appear in District Court in October to answer the charge.

12:46 p.m. - Accident PD - Police responded to a two vehicle accident at the bottom of Rte. 64 and Rte. 12 South. The occupants of the vehicles were uninjured but the vehicles sustained approximately $4,500.00 in damages. Police were assisted by Northfield Ambulance and Northfield Fire. There was reported entrapment but all parties had exited the vehicles before police, fire and ambulance arrived on the scene.

September 20

9:01 a.m. - Animal Problem - Police responded to East Street for a report of an animal complaint. A caller advised that animals were left inside a vehicle in the parking lot. Upon arrival, Police found the vehicle in question and located the animals. The animals were in good health, and had food and water. In further investigation, Police made contact with the owner of the animals who advised that the situation was only temporary.

10:49 p.m. - Family Fight/Domestic - An officer responded to a residence on Water Street for the report of a family disturbance. Upon arrival officers spoke with both parties involved. Officers arranged it so the parties were separated for

the night.

September 21

9:36 a.m. - Lost Property - Police received a report of a lost purse in the area of VT RT 12N and Doyon Road. The complainant advised that she had lost her purse while walking the roadway late last week. The purse is described as being a black 'Victoria Roberts' leather purse. Anyone with information about the purse is urged to contact the Northfield Police Department at 802-485-9181.

2:26 p.m. - Wanted Person - Police received a tip on the location of an individual with two outstanding arrest warrants. Police responded to the location at Dogwood Glenn and located the individual. Jason Vilbrin, 34, was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Washington County District Court to appear before a judicial officer.

September 22

1:56 p.m. - Suspicious Person/ Circumstance - Police received a report of a suspicious circumstance on VT RT 12N. The caller advised that a truck was seen dumping various items onto a nearby property, and was unsure if this was a violation or not. It was believed that the operator of the truck was a family member of the property owner however. A license plate was obtained, and Police will be following up as necessary.

7:36 p.m. - Citizen Dispute - An officer responded to a residence on Vine Street for the report of a citizen's dispute. Upon arrival the officer spoke with several tenants regarding an ongoing parking problem at the apartment building. The complainant had already made arrangements to resolve the issue before the officer arrived. The vehicles were rearranged allowing everyone a parking spot.
