General Richard Schneider, retired from the United States Coast Guard and president of Norwich, will speak at the Northfield Historical Society in the Community Room on October 14 at 7 p.m. about the role of the United States Coastguard during the Viet Nam War.

This is second in a series of presentations which are meant to augment the Viet Nam War: A Reflection which is on view at the Paine House through Veterans Day, November 11.

On this evening, the exhibit will be open for viewting from 6 to 9 p.m.

Light refreshments will be offered before and afer General Schneider's talk.

There will be a question and answer session after the general's presentation.
