Roxbury Free Library Fall Schedule

WHEN THE EMPEROR WAS DIVINE: We have multiple copies of this Humanities Council Vermont Reads book by Julie Otsuka for you to check out, and will sponsor multiple programs in conjunction the book. Among them are two films, shown on two consecutive nights: Time of Fear, a 60 minute documentary telling the story of 16,000 Japanese Americans forced to live in Arkansas relocation camps during World War II: Thursday, October 8, 2009, 7 pm.

Come See The Paradise, an excellent full length feature film based on a true story, also about a family forced into the camps : Friday, October 9, 2009, 7 pm.

THE LOST SYMBOL: Dan Brown's newest book will be discussed by local scholar Robert Allen, who points out the "potboiler" format of this and Brown's other novels (The DaVinci Code, Angels and Demons): Thursday, November 19, 2009, 7 pm.

RED TENT NIGHT: A quarterly potluck for women of Roxbury and beyond, with discussion during dinner (an opportunity to give and receive advice and wisdom on how to live well in Roxbury and the world: marriage, kids, school, career, empty nest…or just visit!) Friday, December 11, 2009, 6 pm at the Roxbury Community Hall.
