Grace Church

TO THE EDITOR: THE NORTHFIELD NEWS WHERE IS ITthat you can go and find new relationships? Where is it that you can be a part of a group that goes out and serves the community? Who also offers women's events every month and teen events weekly? This family friendly group with an average age of 35 exists in this community and meets at the high school every week. We've just celebrated our 20th anniversary in Northfield. We are Grace Church.

When you come in through the doors you are drawn in by the friendliness of the people who attend. You may notice that there are a variety of youth, including over a dozen Norwich students, that there is a group called Kids Revolution for kids in grades 2-5 and a nursery program for first grade and under. You will then enter the auditorium that is filled with contemporary worship led by a band with drums, bass, guitar, piano and vocalists. The message that is given is supported by video, props and is always presented in a way that is applicable as well as thought provoking. As you leave the service, there is Starbucks coffee and snacks available so that everyone can continue to meet new people or deepen current relationships.

"This is a place where you can talk about your faith and be encouraged. A place to know and be known, love and be loved, no matter what part of the faith journey you are on," says Matt Warren, pastor of Grace. This doesn't only happen on Sundays. This happens all week long in different capacities in the Grace building by the Auto Bath downtown. On Tuesdays we are in the midst of our Financial Peace University, which is a budgeting course by Dave Ramsey of CNN. Every Sunday night is Inside Out which is a fun group for teens from 6-8pm and once a month the women get together for different events: October is Thai cooking, November is ornament making.

All of these events and more are available to be seen at www.gracevt.org. Our weekly services are at 10am on Sundays at the Northfield High School auditorium, but you won't see us there on November 1st. That is our bi-annual Faith In Action day when Grace will be out in the community "being the church" by helping out in different areas of Northfield. Come and see for yourself why we are the "best kept secret in Northfield".
