TO THE EDITOR: THE NORTHFIELD NEWS LATELY, I'VE READ much about Canada being unhappy with the slogan "Buy American."

The Canadians feel left out with this and I fail to understand why.

Did Canada depart from the American continent? Are they not equally American as the United States?

I think that every time we, in the U.S., push to buy American, we are also pushing as well, Mexican and any of our South American and Central American neighbors.

America is a continent where the United States, Canada and Mexico and many more are located. It is not, by itself, the name of any country.
