Health Care

TO THE EDITOR: THE NORTHFIELD NEWS THERE IS NO doubt our health care system is broken. The danger in making changes is that we might not do a good job and that could only make things worse than they already are. Other countries offer their citizens quality care at a much lower cost than we do. We ought to consider how they do it.

You can learn about the innovative ways that other developed countries use to provide efficient, fair and timely care to all their residents without breaking the bank.

It's all there in The Healing of America by T. R. Reid. This book is straight forward and factual.

There is much to be learned from our global neighbors. Tell your elected officials to read this book before the next session starts. There is a way out of the morass we find ourselves in.

The question is...is there a will?
