Local Man Arrested For Sheltering Run Away Child

Northfield Police have reported that they arrested Matthew Amell, 21, of Northfield for custodial interference and unlawful sheltering and aiding of a runaway child.

According to the report, police received an anonymous tip that a runaway juvenile was at the suspect's parents' residence located at Preston Drive in Northfield.

Police located the child and Mr. Amell, taking both into custody.

Mr. Amell was lodged in lieu of $5,000.00 bail and was cited to appear in the Washington County District Court on 10-12-09 at 12:30 p.m.

The juvenile was taken back into DCF custody and was lodged at Woodside Juvenile Rehab Center in Colchester.
