Girls Soccer Team Makes Waves, Wins 3
      The Blue Devil Girl's soccer team picked up a trio of victories last week. On Wednesday the Williamstown ladies beat Twinfield 2-1 at home. On Friday they traveled to Concord and topped the Wildcats 1-0 in overtime. Then back home on Saturday, they dismantled United Christian Academy (UCA), of Newport, 4- 0.

Blue Devil Boys Have Perfect Week Winning All Three Games
      The Williamstown boy's played three games last week and they turned in a nearly perfect week. Nearly! The Blue Devil Boys beat Twinfield 2-0 on Tuesday at home and then beat Concord in a home & home series on Thursday and Friday. Williamstown both of those games by scores of 1-0 and 5-0 respectively giving the Blue Devils 3-0 week and a season record of 9-3.

Marauder Girls Beat Lyndon and U-32
      team picked up a pair of wins in the last seven days and in the bargain they picked up an extra index point for when the playoff picks come out this weekend.

Northfield Boys Win Over Peoples 1 - 0
      Northfield High Boy's soccer split a pair of home games last week. The Marauders Topped Peoples Academy 1-0 last Wednesday and on Friday, again at Garvey Field they fell to Div. II Harwood by a 3-0 count. With the split the Marauder record stands at 6-6-1 with two games left in the regular season. The Marauders will visit Spaulding this Saturday for an 11 a.m. match.

NBA PREVIEW
      The 2009-10 NBA season opens October 27th with a lot of different faces in diverse uniforms. But cutting to the chase, it appears the LA Lakers are going to garner another championship, what with the addition of defensive juggernaut and all around physical phenom, Ron Artest. Forgive the authorial intrusion, but I dislike the Lakers and bleed Celtic Green.

      Nikki Szczepanski and Brittany Casey each tallied a pair of goals, and Nicki Hunsicker made seven saves in the Cadets' net as Norwich shut out Lasell, 4-0, in a key Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's soccer match Saturday afternoon.

Wrestling, Tennis Restored At Norwich
      Norwich University officials have announced that due to record enrollments in the freshmen class, the wrestling and tennis programs will not be cut from the university's varsity sports lineup but will remain fully funded beyond this season.

Norwich Pushes Over Husson 20 - 19 By Axing A Two Point Conversion
      Danny Triplett rushed for a game-high 116 yards and one touchdown, and the Cadets defense stopped a two-point conversion attempt late in the fourth quarter as the Norwich University football team held on to beat Husson College, 20-19, in an important Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) game Saturday afternoon at the John Winkin Stadium.

Norwich Men Roll Past Johnson & Wales 6 - 1 In GNAC Soccer
      Danny Hudson and Bobby Begin both scored twice as the Norwich University men's soccer team rolled past Johnson & Wales, 6-1, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match Saturday afternoon. Norwich (7-6-2, 3-3-1 GNAC) has scored 14 goals over its last two games after netting just four goals in its previous five contests.

Norwich Cross Country
      Team co-captains Michael Monaghan and John Pomeroy placed sixth and seventh, respectively, to lead the Norwich University men's cross country team to a fourth-place finish at the WNEC Invitational Saturday morning. NU put up 103 points to place within the upper third of the 12-team field.

Norwich Sponsors Special Olympics Soccer
     Over 175 Special Olympians from all over Vermont gathered at Norwich University on Saturday for the start of the Special Olympics Fall Sports Celebration. Saturday featured soccer and here 32 year old Albert Laird of Essex Jct. booms the ball away from out in front of his goal as attackers close in. Seventy five volunteers from Norwich, Northfield High School and the University of Vermont helped stage the saturday events.On Sunday the activities moved to Twin City Lanes,in Berlin,where nearly 250 Special Olympians competed in bowling.

"The End Of a Successful Season"
     Seven year old Sebastion Tanguay and his Dad, Chris, of Central St., walk off Garvey field after Saturday Morning's k-1-2 soccer jamboree with Rumney School of Middlesex. The Northfield Dynamos sponsored jamboree gave nearly 80 players and over spectators 200 two hours of fun to close out the season.

Cadets Sweep Suffolk & Albertus Magnus In Volleyball Tourney
      The Norwich University volleyball team swept a pair of matches versus Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opponents Saturday, as the Cadets defeated Suffolk, 3-1, and swept Albertus Magnus, 3-0. Norwich (14-9, 5-4 GNAC) stuggled a bit against Suffolk, winning by scores of 25-15, 21- 25, 25-20 and 25-15.
