Legion Is Sponsoring Pumpkin Carving Contest For Kids And Adults on Friday, October 30
Sorrell Maynard American Legion Post # 63 is holding a pumpkin carving contest this year.
There are four entry categories:
Pee Wees, Ages 4-7 Entry Fee of $2.00
Juniors, Ages 8-15, Entry Fee of $3.00
In Betweeners, Ages 16-49, Entry Fee of $5.00
Seniors, Ages 50+, Entry Fee of $7.00
The Pee Wees will be judged on originality. This category is judged on what this age can accomplish with minimal help from parents/others. The other categories will be judged on originality and craftsmanship.
The rules:
Each competitor must furnish their own pumpkin.
Each competitor must carve/decorate their own pumpkin
Each competitor must have their name, phone number, and entry category attached or written on the back of the pumpkin.
Enter as many times as you would like but you must pay an individual entry fee for each pumpkin.
All entries must be at the Northfield American Legion no later than 5:00 PM October 28.
The prizes:
Pee Wees, First Place - one half the total entry fee plus a blue ribbon; ribbons for second an third place
Juniors, First Place - one half the total entry fee plus a blue ribbon; ribbons for second an third place
In Betweeners, First Place - one half the total entry fee
Seniors, First Place - one half the total entry fee
Judging will be done on October 30 and winners will be notified on October 31. All pumpkins must be picked up by close of business on November 1 or will be disposed of on November 2.
