Masonic Temple Will Host Kids Halloween Party
Last year over 200 ghosts, goblins, pirates and superheros had great fun at the Halloween party at the Masonic Temple sponsored by Dewitt Clinton, Lodge No. 15.
Again this year, the lodge will sponsor the kids once again treating them to all sorts of games from dusk until about 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 31 at the Masonic Temple on S. Main Street in Northfield.
This is the sixth year that the lodge has hosted the event.
"The temple provides a safe environment where the kids can have a good time," said Bill Croney, a member of the lodge.
Features include "Spaghetti Surprise" where miniature prizes are wrapped up and pop out for the kids.
There will be the doughnut on a string contest and dunkin for apples.
The kids will be able to toss the bean bag and win prizes and for those with a sadistic bent, they can throw whip cream pies.
"For the first three years, we just handed out candy at the lodge," said Joe Morvan, the party committee chairman. "Two years ago, we decided to decorate the dining room and have a party atmosphere," he added.
The party atmosphere will begin outside the temple with jackolanterns and greeters in costume. Once inside, the kids have to negotiate the hall of horrors to get to the party.
"It's a cross between a haunted house and a Halloween party," Mr. Morvan said.
The entire affair is free to all. The younger set are invited to come with their parents and family members.
Remember to wear your scariest costume and be ready for fun.
