Dolores Theresa Barrows, 77, Northfield Mother & Homemaker
Dolores Theresa Barrows, 77, of Barrows Road, died Wednesday, October 21 at her home after a long illness.
She was born March 22, 1932 in Troy, NY, the daughter of Walter Albert and Catherine (Crosier) Burgess.
She received her early education in Barnard and Pomfret schools and attended high school in Woodstock.
She married Glynn H. Barrows May 6, 1948 in Bethel. The couple resided most of their married life in Northfield. Mr. Barrows died January 13, 2003.
Mrs. Barrows was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, knitting, spending time with her family, traveling and especially spending time with family and friends in Maine.
She was a friend of the United Church of Northfield.
Surviving are two daughters, Judy Hewett and Linda Barrows, three sons, Robert Barrows, Lynn Barrows and Kevin Barrows, all of Northfield, a sister Martha Leonard, Barnard and a brother, George Burgess of Weyland, MA, 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a great grand daughter, Kilynne DeForge and a sister, Caroline Burgess.
The funeral was conducted at the Kingston Funeral Home and the Reverend Linda Kulas, pastor of the United Church of Northfield conducted the service.
Burial followed the service in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Northfield.
