Last Friday was senior day for the Williamstown Girl's soccer team. The four seniors on the team, Janra Bresett #8, left, Sarah Bailey #6. Kristin Brown, #9, and Emma Lamson are pictured with their parents and coach Jay Villa (Center). Following the brief pregame ceremony the Lady "Devils took on Cannan and came away with a 3-0 victory. The win gave the Lady Blue Devils a final regular season record of 10-2. More ... The Williamstown Girl's soccer team ended their regular season on a successful note last week. The Lady Blue Devils shut-out Cannan 3-0 in the only game they played. They wrapped up their regular season with a record of 10-2 and were undefeated at home. More ... Last weeks soccer action saw the Blue Devil Boys split a pair of 1-0 decisions. Last Tuesday the Blue Devil's traveled down to South Royalton and suffered a tough 1-0 loss to a top shelf team on the field down by the river. More ... In a driving rain storm, freshman RB Orwin Etkins totaled 209 yards of total offense and three touchdowns to help lead the Norwich University football team to a 48-0 victory over Anna Maria College at a rain-drenched Sabine Field Saturday afternoon. More ... The Northfield High Boy's soccer team may have lost their last two games of the season over the last week, but despite the losses the Marauders proved that can play with the big kids. Last Wednesday the Marauders took on Stowe, the top seeded team in Div. More ... The rain and mud made the ball difficult to handle, but it didn't slow down the Norwich University women's rugby team, who spent the afternoon attacking the Bryant Bulldogs in the New England Rugby Football Union quarter-final match-up. The Cadets led 26-0 at the half, and they ran in two more in the second half en route to a 36-0 victory. More ... Going into the last three games of the regular season the Northfield Girl's soccer team had a big goal. Win all three of the games left on their schedule. They didn't do too badly. They wound up 2-1 for the final three encounters and managed to pull out a victory against a Div. I opponent in the bargain. More ... BOSTON - The seventh seed Norwich Cadets traveled to historic Nickerson Field to take on the second seed BU Terriers in the first round of NERFU Collegiate Div. II playoffs. The previous week BU put up seventy-two points so the Cadets new they were in for a challenge. More ... |
