Tickets are now on sale for the 4th Annual Evening at the Library honoring Chris Bohjalian with special hosts, Ken & Elizabeth Squier. Tickets cost $50 per person for this December 5, 2009 gala which starts at 7pm. It's great fun and the money raised benefits the library!

Thurs., Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. Music for Mankind: How Can We Help? Kelly Moore, an accomplished musician, will discuss the issues of global hunger, disaster relief, and how Music for Mankind benefit concerts and Music for Mankind, Inc. is making a difference.

Fri., Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. Readers Theatre: When the Emperor Was Divine. Montpelier High theater students present a readers theatre of this year's Vermont Reads, When the Emperor Was Divine by Julie Otsuka. . Script adapted and written by students, Lea Wood and Marianne Disney. Directed by Suzanne Lunden.

Mon., Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. Between Waters: Lake Champlain Meditations and Inspirations with Kevin MacNeil Brown. This program combines readings of poetry and prose with live creation/ performance of ambient music and a showing of visual art. Kevin MacNeil Brown's work, inspired by the lake, explores natural and cultural history, and the transformational energies of nature, time, and landscape.

Tues., Nov. 10 from 7-8:30 p.m. Wills and Advanced Directives: Protecting Yourself and Providing for Your Family. Learn about the basics of covering present needs and providing for the foreseeable future. Panel discussion. Part of the series Legal Strategies for Major Life Events.

Thurs., Nov. 12 at 1:30 p.m. Reading and Discussion of When the Emperor Was Divine. Join this afternoon book discussion celebrating this year's Vermont Reads novel, When the Emperor Was Divine by Julie Otsuka. Led by Francette Cerulli.

Thurs., Nov. 12 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Victim Impact: The True Cost of Drinking and Driving. Three speakers from the Vermont Victim Impact Program will present. Q & A. Presented by the Montpelier Community Justice Center.

Thurs., Nov. 19 at 6 p.m. Living Machines, Composting Toilets and Gray Water. This presentation by Buzz Fervor will show some different ways to manage our waste and water. Learn how to change the morning flush into habits that respect water each day. Presented by Transition Town Montpelier.

All events are free, open to the public and ADA accessible.
