TO THE EDITOR: THE NORTHFIELD NEWS AS A LOCAL representative, I receive the regular minutes of the Central Vermont Regional Planning Commission. Northfield citizens should be proud to know what the minutes of October 13 reflect in the Commission's approval of our new town plan.

Some quotes from the minutes include:

The plan is "thorough, well researched and well written. It lays out a clear vision for the community based on the residents' wishes and needs."

It "ranks as one of the best plans in the region."

"Congratulations were offered to Northfield and their Planning Commission members for an outstanding job."

We owe a great debt of gratitude to the Planning Commission members, and the many others in town who play similar roles in unrecognized volunteer tasks, for their contributions to our community.
