Donald Jeffrey Hinckley, 41, Well Known Artist

WILLIAMSTOWN — Donald Jeffrey Hinckley, ("Donnie") age 41, died unexpectedly after short illness at his parents' home in Williamstown on Nov. 7, 2009.

Donald was born on June 8, 1968, at Emma Laing Stevens Hospital in Granville, N.Y. He was the son of Gerald and Elaine (Coutermarsh) Hinckley. Donald attended elementary school in Poultney and was graduate of Williamstown High School, class of 1986. Donald was employed for many years at Depot and Main (formerly "Steins Beverage") in Williamstown and most recently worked for Barre Tile Company in South Barre. He will be remembered for his laughter and his smile.

In his youth, Donald played little league baseball. Donald was an accomplished artist working in various mediums to include drawing, watercolor, pastels, oil painting and in later years, granite etching. He loved the outdoors and his hobbies included a love of camping, hunting, and especially brook fishing.\

Survivors include one daughter, Shyann Hinckley of Williamstown; his parents, Elaine and Gerald Hinckley, also of Williamstown; one brother, David Hinckley and his wife, Karen of Redlands, Calif.; two sisters, Diana King and her husband, Jeffrey of Poultney; Denise Hinckley of Williamstown as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. A Mass of Christian Burial wias celebrated on Nov. 12, 2009 at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Williamstown.

Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home in Barre was in charge of arrangements.

Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery in Randolph following the mass.
