Mary Elaine Rogers Quirk, 74, Northfield High ‘53

CHEYENNE, WY - Mary Elaine Rogers Quirk, 74, of Cheyenne passed away early on Nov. 12 at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.

Elaine was born on July 11, 1935, in Northfield, a daughter of the late Bertrand and Rosemary (Provost) Rogers.

She graduated with honors from Northfield High School in the Class of 1953.

Mrs. Quirk married Sgt. John H. (Jack) Quirk, U.S. Marine Corps, on Aug. 10, 1957, at St. John's Catholic Church in Northfield and spent the next 20 years moving around the country as a military spouse in support of her husband's career before retiring to Cheyenne. She loved family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband in their RV, reading, supporting the Denver Broncos and her two dogs, Bonnie and Pax.

Elaine is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, John H. (Jack) Quirk, USMC retired; her son, James (Jim) Quirk, USMC retired, of Alexandria, Va.; three daughters, Mary Kay Lumbreraz, Bobbi Johnson and Beth Allen and her three No. 1 sons-in-law, Carl, Nick and Jeff, all of Cheyenne; a sister, Patricia Seaver of Northfield; six grandchildren, Charleigh Johnson, Megan Quirk, Eric Johnson, Emili Milatzo, Lauren Milatzo and Sammi Lee Jensen; and three great-grandchildren.

A private Catholic service was held earlier last month.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home.
