Historical Society Gets Grant From IBM
IBM has awarded a $1,000 cash grant to the Northfield Historical Society to support the creation of a new index and an update of the Appendices for the town's history, "Green Mountain Heritage," published in 1974.
Isabel Nielsen will be creating the new, more detailed index, and Nancy Berini researched and compiled information for the Appendices.
Once the work is complete, the Society will publish and offer the book for sale.
“The book has been out of print for many years and this will be an opportunity to get it into the hands of many who never had an opportunity to read it or own it,” said Kay Schleuter, Curator of the Historical Society.
This grant has been awarded in recognition of the volunteer service of Joanna Caswell, IBM retiree. IBM's Community Service grants are based on requests from employees or retirees who have a record of active and ongoing involvement with local not-for-profit organizations and schools.
