Joseph P. Sanchioni, 65, Worked at Bombardier

WILLIAMSTOWN – Joseph P. Sanchioni, 65, of Flint Road, passed away Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009, at his home with his wife Patty at his bedside after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Born in Framingham, Mass., on March 24, 1944, he was the son of Samuel L. and Alice E. (Cafarelli) Sanchioni. Joe grew up in Southborough and graduated from Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough in 1962. Later, he served in the United States Army in Vietnam.

On July 18, 1987, he married Patricia Joslyn in Westborough. They resided in Marlboro prior to moving to Williamstown in 1983.

Joe was employed by General Electric Corporation in Ashland, Mass., and Bombardier Corporation in Barre before his retirement.

He was a lifetime member of the Southborough Rod and Gun Club, a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, and member the American Legion. Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia J. Sanchioni of Williamstown; his daughter, Lori Ann Sanchioni of Tijeras, N.M.; his sister, Elizabeth Hackett Spisak and her husband Rick of Englewood, Fla.; his in-laws, Joe and Bernice Joslyn of Westborough, Mass.; brothers in-law, Mel Joslyn and his wife Nancy of Millbury, Mass., Ken Joslyn and his wife Laura of Shrewsbury, Mass., Al Joslyn and his wife Brenda of Chicopee, Mass.; nieces and nephews, Jeff Hackett and John Hackett of Florida, Ann-Marie Smith of Kentucky, and Keith, Kilee, Doug, John, Mark, Casey, Tim, Daniel and Holly Joslyn, all of Massachusetts.

He was predeceased by his parents, Samuel L. Sanchioni and Alice E. Sanchioni.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St Anne's Catholic Church in Southborough, Mass.

His family would like to give special and heartfelt thanks to his friends, Jarelle Flibotte, Roger Rouleau, his VA Team, Dr. Fanizzi, Dr. Huizenga, and RN, Gayle Smith, and the Central Vermont Home Health and Hospice Team: Joan, Demaris, Eileen, Rotha and Dianna.
