Blues Man, Harry Manx, To Appear At Tunbridge, Then To At The Chandler

Harry Manx Harry Manx The Northfield News

Canadian "East Meets West" bluesman, Harry Manx, will perform at the Tunbridge Town Hall on Sunday, January 17th at 7:30PM at the Tunbridge Town Hall in Tunbridge, Vermont.

Otherworldly blues fans reunite in Tunbridge and welcome Harry back for his 3rd concert for MountainFolk in the last five years. On the heels of his standing ovation encore opening set for Richie Havens over in Woodstock, Harry continues to travel the Bluesroad less travelled eastward with the recent release of "Bread and Buddha" on Dog My Cat Records. He has been called an "essential link" between the music of East and West...playing the Mohan Veena, as well as lap steel, harmonica, guitar and banjo.

Blending Indian folk melodies with blues, a sprinkle of gospel, and compelling grooves (Hendrix anyone?), Harry engagingly embroiders the "mysticssippi" soundscape. Advance tickets ($15) are available at www.mtnfolk.org, the South Royalton Market, Randolph's 3 Bean Cafe, Rochester's Seasoned Books and Bakery and coming to the soon to be reopened Tunbridge Village Store. Tickets will be $20 at the door.

More information on MountainFolk's series of 2010 concerts with an e-mail to folkbloke@ hotmail.com or by calling 802-431-3433.

Next up for MountainFolk...Bow Thayer and the Perfect Trainwreck, in a special benefit concert for the Chandler Music Hall in Randolph, Vermont on Saturday, January 30th. This special show will feature the entire "Wreck" playing material from a soon to be released CD with proceeds benefitting the Chandler Building Fund. Tickets can now be purchased at www.chandler-arts.org.
