Northfield Gets Coveted Garone Award For Sportsmanship
The Northfield High Boy's and Girl's basketball teams and fans were the winner of The Vermont Basketball
Referees Association's coveted Mona Garone Sportsmanship award. Jackie Susmann(left) of the Girl's
basketball team and Danny Rowe from the Boy's team hold the banner that was named after the legendary
Oxbow Girl's coach while members of both teams look on. The banner was presented at halftime of the
Girl's game against Stowe last week and will be hung up in the gym.. Sportsmanship has been he cornerstone
of all Northfield athletic teams under the direction of Athletic Director Frank Pecora.
