Annie Luke Receives Kathy Fionda Award

Annie Luke, an employee of the Northfield Schools, has received the Kathy Fionda Award for her work at as Student Assistance Professional (S.A.P.) at Northfield Middle/High School and Northfield Elementary School.
Each year the Association of Student Assistance Professionals of Vermont recognizes one S.A.P. in the state who has "gone above and beyond the call of duty, a spirited individual that works with kids and families, who is giving back to their community/state or profession, and someone who peers have a high regard for their work." The award is named after the late Kathy Fionda, a former S.A.P., who coincidentally also worked in Northfield.
Earlier this year, Ms. Luke received an Asset Builder award from the Greater Northfield Coalition Council.This annual award recognizes an individual who "empowers students to make healthy choices".In addition to serving as student assistance professional, Ms. Luke is the Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) advisor and supports one of the middle/high school’s Rachel's Challenge groups. She is in her fifth year at the Northfield schools.
