Josephine “Jo” M. Wilson, 85, NHS Class of 1942

Josephine “Jo” M. Wilson, 85, passed away at her home in Spanaway, WA on December 24, 2009 surrounded by her children.

Born in Barre on June 12, 1924, she was the daughter of Frank L. and Mildred (Bailey) Archer. She spent most of her school years in Northfield and was a graduate of Northfield High School class of 1942.

In 1945 she married Leslie Wilson in Connecticut. They first lived in Missouri but eventually became permanent Oregon residents. Jo and Les later divorced but she remained on the west coast making occasional trips to visit her east coast family in Vermont.

Josephine is survived by her two daughters, Sharon Kae Kent of Bothell, WA and Bernice Elaine Drushella of Spanaway, WA; two sons, Maurice Asahel Wiolson of Bend, OR and Frank Ralph Wilson of Vancouver, WA; 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Parker Steward of Duarte, CA; a brother, Frank E. Archer who resides in the family Northfield home; an aunt, Madeline Bador of Worchester, VT, an uncle Dwight Bailer of Springfield, VT and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, her former husband, three sisters, Bernice Archer Stanfield, Lillian and Joyce Archer and one brother, Bert Parker.

A memorial service will be held in Spanaway, WA on January 30 with a commitment service at the Northfield Falls cemetery in the spring.
