‘Ski For Heat’ Fundraiser To Be At Morse Farm Ski Touring Center February 20
MONTPELIER – Ski for Heat will be held on Saturday, February 20.
This cross-country skiing (or snowshoeing) fundraiser benefits low-income families in our area who need heating fuel assistance. “Morse Farm Ski Touring Center has generously donated the use of its trails to all participants; without the kindness of Bill Kaplan, Ski for Heat would not be possible,” said event coordinator Kate Coffey.
Participants are asked to seek pledges, either on a per-kilometer basis or as a set dollar donation (or they may pledge themselves), for a day of skiing at Morse Farm.
“We make this easy and fun for people to take part in. Skiers may show up at any time during the day and ski for as long as or as little as they like. There are beautiful trails for all abilities, and if you don’t cross-country ski, snowshoes are also welcomed. This is the working definition of ‘great fun for a great cause,’ and so many of our neighbors will need our help this winter,” said Ms. Coffey.
Money raised goes to the Shareheat Fund at CVCAC. All donations, up to $5000, will be matched by the shareholders of CVPS.
Sponsors for Ski for Heat are National Live Group, Black River Design, Write Solutions and Hunger Mountain Co-op. “We are so grateful for the support of these sponsors and all the individuals who contribute to this very necessary and worthwhile fundraiser,” said Ms. Coffey.
