Eilen Jewell To Appear At Tunbridge Town Hall
2010-02-04 / Entertainment
Eilen Jewell and her band will perform at the Tunbridge Town Hall on Saturday, February 13 at 7:30 p.m. as part of the ongoing MountainFolk concert series. Eilen's talent and style have been favorably compared to Gillian Welch and Lucinda Williams since she broke into the folk/Americana scene over the last five years.
Skillfully weaving together swing jazz, smoky country ballads and nostalgic old-time music, Jewell performs "songs that sound born of speakeasies, honkytonks and train rides without a whiff of contrivance." Her latest release, "Sea of Tears", on MA-based Signature Sounds, has received glowing thumbs-ups from folk-DJ's across the U.S. and Canada.
Advance tickets ($15) are available on-line at www.mtnfolk.org and at the South Royalton Market, Randolph's Three Bean Cafe and Rochester's Seasoned Books and Bakery. Door price is $20.
