IT’S FORTUNATE that I heard Ken Squier talking about sundogs last Saturday on his Music to Go the Dump By radio show or I might have thought the vision in front of me was my personal invitation to The Other Side. Mr. Squier asked listeners to phone in their experiences or knowledge of the lore of sundogs. He didn’t want a scientific explanation, only personal experience. More ... ONE AFTERNOON of a cold winter's day, two children asked leave of their mother to run out and play in the new-fallen snow. The older child was a little girl, so tender and modest that every one called her Violet. The boy was called Peony because of his fat, round face which made everybody think of sunshine and scarlet flowers. More ... IWAS DRIVING to work one day last winter and passed a group of middle school aged kids waiting for the school bus. What I saw there, in the group of a dozen, or so, youngsters, concerned me. She was at the State House with many of our veteran organizations helping us understand challenges our veterans face and resources the organizations provide. More ...
