Reduction in Force

TO THE EDITOR: THE NORTHFIELD NEWS THE WAY IN WHICH our town officials handled the recent reduction in force involving our superintendent of our highway department is a disgrace to the people of Northfield. The way in which it was handled stinks of back room politics. To hold an executive session and then let the information leek out is just unacceptable. Then our town leadership reverses their decision admitting they were wrong. Now I ask you how would you like to be Mr. Lyon? You would be going to work every day knowing that the “boss” wants to ge.t Lyon has worked for the town of Northfield for many years and lives and sleeps his job.Every time I have had the need to call him he was always responded promptly and gone the extra mile to see to it that the request was done.Certainly a man with this kind of devotion deserves to be treated much better than the fiasco the town has put him through. My question know how are the town officials that did this going to be reprimanded so that this type of treatment does not happen again?
