Tony Moulton To Leave Boys & Girls Club
Tony Moulton, executive director of the Boys & Girls Club in Northfield has announced that he will take over a new post as director of education and outreach at the Women’s Rape Crisis Center in Burlington.
He will leave his current position on March 26.
Mr. Moulton said that in his new position, he will have the opportunity to help even more youth and adults. The new job will allow him “to challenge stereotypes and unhealthy behavior, to become advocates for victims of sexual violence and to reach their full potential as caring, compassionate, civic minded individuals,” he said.
He said that “directing the Boys & Girls Club in Northfield has fulfilled me in ways I never imagined. The support and friendship you have extended to me, to our club and our youth has been integral to our success. Your assistance has allowed us to inspire, change and many times even save lives.
“My greatest hope and wish is that the work I have done in the past four and one half years both collaboratively and individually will be continued,” he added.
He stated that he hoped that the community will embrace and welcome the new Director with the same warmth and support he had. He noted that “never have lived in or worked in a community so open to assisting their neighbor and working together for a better future. Northfield has become my new adopted hometown.”
He said to those who have and continue to work with, teach, counsel, mentor, guide, parent and inspire youth, “you are heroes, you have the most important and impactful job in the world. I salute you and thank you for your hard work, your time and your compassion.”
He said that “to the many youth whom I have been blessed with the opportunity to work with, your power, tenacity and resolve to overcome adversity has inspired me beyond words. It has also taught me that no matter how old or young you are any person can do amazing things. That anyone can rise up and change the world. I will never forget you. You changed and inspired me as much as I hope
helped and inspired you.”
He said that to the boys and girls he wanted each of them
to do your best and reach your full potential. Be good to each other and to your future kids.
have one final request for you. Do your job well. What job you ask? The one most important job you will ever have, that we all have. To take care of yourself and lead the best and happiest life you can.
