Northfield Democrats Help CERV With Cash & Food At Town Meeting

For the second year in a row, Northfield Democrats will collect donations for CERV in an effort to raise funds and food for the town's local foodshelf. Volunteers will be providing fresh baked goods and hot coffee at town meeting at no charge, but donations of non-perishable food items or cash donations benefiting CERV will be accepted.

"Last year's effort was so successful that we thought we should do it again," said Christopher Curtis, Chair of the local Democratic Committee. Curtis noted that local Democrats raised over $130.00 in small contributions to benefit CERV. "Last year's town meeting turned into a bit of a marathon," Curtis said. "It turned out it wasn't a bad idea to offer cookies, brownies and coffee to get folks through," he said. "Everyone who came by our table was extremely generous," Curtis added.

This year organizers will take collections of canned or non-perishable food items for CERV, in addition to cash donations.
