Three Seniors Honored at Marauder Boys Basketball Last Home Game

The Northfield boys basketball team hosted a red-hot Enosburg Falls Hornet that were looking for their 5th win of the season entering the their last home game of the season.
After most of the game behind strong play by two of the three seniors being honored on the last home game of their high school career, foul trouble doomed the Marauders late as they fell to the hornets 60 - 58. The defeat marked the eighth straight loss for Northfield.
The Marauders held a 34 - 26 lead in the first half, but Hornets went on a 34-24 run to close out the game with the victory.
Seniors Adam Daley and Danny Rowe lead the team in the first quarter, The missing piece in this game was the play of Senior Kevin Darling(tied down to the pine on the sidelines with a torn ACL).
“They got real aggressive on both ends of the floor,” coach Nathan Driscoll said. “Their defense just turned to offense. They were finishing everything strong at the rim and just going strong at the basket. We got a little soft.”
Zach Daley led Northfield offensively with Fifteen points. Adam Daley finished with eight points and 6 rebounds.
“I thought we started extremely strong,” Driscoll said. “They did a nice job defensively, shutting us down in the second half.” We had a tough time with their full court press.”
The Northfield bench stepped up after Adam and Danny fouled out. Bench play was led by Ryan Payette 6 points, Ryan Robbins 8 points and Tyler Ellis 6 points.
Adam Daley, Danny Rowe and Kevin Darling were honored for their contributions to Marauder basketball over the last several seasons, Adam 3, Danny 4, and Kevin 4 all have contributed greatly through some very trying times.
