LIBRARY BUDGET REQUEST PASSES AT TOWN MEETING:
Many thanks to the people of Roxbury, who approved the library’s $12,000 budget request for FY 2010-2011. The library trustees will fundraise an additional $4,300, almost ? of the total projected operating budget. Town meeting always provides a good opportunity to answer questions about the library, but you don’t have to wait for one day each year. We welcome your questions, concerns and suggestions any time, and would be grateful to hear them directly from you. Another way of supporting the library, other than financially, is to make demands on it – to keep it most responsive to the whole community. Come in and find out the many services and items available – books, of course, but also large print and audio books, interlibrary loans, home deliveries, videos, magazines, computers and computer instruction, assistance with job search, programs, weekly story hour, and many more things – if we don’t have what you want, just ask, and we will do our best to provide.
ITALIAN/FRENCH LANGUAGE CLUB: Last month’s Italian language club was a lot of fun, and we decided to expand it to include French speakers. What shall we call the group? Ciao Belle? Mama Mia, Mon Dieu? Please come and share your suggestions and familiarity with these tongues, however meager – it’s just for fun, and you might also improve your skills in the process. The next meeting is on Thursday, March 11, 2 pm at the library.
RED TENT NIGHT: the quarterly women’s potluck and discussion will meet on Friday, March 12, 6 pm at the Roxbury Community Hall. Bring a friend and a dish to share.
