BERLIN, VT – Central Vermont Home Health and Hospice (CVHHH) will be celebrating its 100th Birthday in 2011.

CVHHH was founded in 1911 when The Montpelier Women’s Club hired Miss Eleanor Black as the first District Nurse. Other early organizations that melded to create CVHHH included the Barre Visiting Nurse Association, the Waterbury Public Health Association and the Northfield Public Health Association.

In preparation for its centennial celebration, CVHHH is searching for photos, stories, and other memorabilia about its visiting nurses dating back to its early years in Washington County, and the towns of Williamstown, Orange and Washington.

If you have a photo or piece of memorabilia to share, please contact Barbara Butler at bbutler@ cvhhh.org, mail to her at 600 Granger Road, Barre, VT 05641, or call her at 224-2235.

If you or a loved one has a home health story to share, please go to www.cvhhh.org and click on the My Home Health Story link.

Submissions are requested by April 15, 2010. Original photos and memorabilia will be returned when requested, as long as items are clearly marked with the correct name, address and phone number. Permission to use any materials and/or stories will be sought prior to publishing.
