James F. Matheson, 58, Vietnam Veteran
James F. Matheson, 58, died Monday, March 1, 2010, at the Fletcher Allen Medical Center in Burlington. He was born in Northfield on August 14, 1951, the son of Daniel & Freida (Ryan) Matheson. He attended Berlin schools.
He was a United States Army veteran having served in the Vietnam War from 1971, until he was honorably discharged in 1973.
He married Laurel Miller on August 10, 1996 in Enosburg.
He was a farmer for over 30 years. He drove truck for the construction trade for a few years and recently a “flagger” for Pike Industries for the past three years.
He was a member of Vietnam Veterans Association of Essex Junction. He enjoyed motorcycle riding and computer gaming.
Survivors include his wife, Laurel Matheson of Barre; two children, Colin & Sara Matheson of Barre; five siblings, Daniel Matheson, Jr. of Pomona Park, FL, Stanley Matheson of Northfield Falls, Bruce Matheson of Northfield, Frederick Matheson of Northfield, Keith Matheson of Cordova, Maryland; and many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his sister, Marylin Matheson.
There are no calling hours. A memorial service was conducted on March 6 at Kingston Funeral Home in Northfield.
