Locals Play In State All Star Game

Last Saturday girls from Northfield and Williamstown got together as All Stars at Windsor High School for the Vermont State All Star game

The North team for that game was comprised of Northfield's Jacqueline Susmaun and Emily Martin, Williamstown's Bethany Carrier, Kristin Brown and Emma Lamson.

After the girls played, the boys game followed in the afternoon.

The South players featured three players from the D-IV state champion Williamstown team: Ray Burgos, Troy Laughin and Steve Manwaring. They were joined by Arlington's Kolby Crofut, Proctor's Josh Taranovich, Rochester's Jace Curtis and Matt Brown, Oxbow's Jake Bielecki, West Rutland's Spencer Mumford, South Royalton's Devon Cilley, Randolph's Tyler Lafrenier, Twin Valley's Scott Hayford and Skylar Duncan, Northfield's Adam Daley and Leland & Gray's Tyler Russell.

Head coaches from this area included Sid Sweet of Williamstown (North Girls DIII/ IV).

One local coach inducted into the VBCA Hall of Fame. Dan Gandin from 1973 with Chelsea, Williamstown and still active with U-32 received the honor.

Local Coaches honored as coach of the year were Division III, Lori Shepard, Northfield and Division IV, Jack Carrier of Williamstown.
