Claire A. Jarvis, 82, Provided Elder Care

WILLIAMSTOWN - Claire A. Jarvis, 82, died Sunday, March 28, 2010 at her home in Williamstown.

She was born in Northfield on February 6, 1928, the daughter of Armand & Antoinette (Roux) Hebert. She attended Northfield Schools.

She married Sidney Jarvis at St. John The Evangelist Church in Northfield on February 15, 1947. Mr. Jarvis died July 25, 1980.

Mrs. Jarvis lived most of her married life in Northfield and Williamstown. She provided elder care out of her home for over 15 years.

She was a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Williamstown and St. John The Evangelist in Northfield. She enjoyed quilting and doing mission work for the church.

Survivors include four sons, Roger, Thomas, Wayne, Carl Jarvis all of Williamstown; three daughters, Angeline Covey, Pamela Roux, both of Williamstown, Antoinette Moore of Germantown, Ohio; three siblings, David Hebert of Florida, Doris Marcotte of New Hampshire, Marjorie Therrien of Middlebury; twenty -six grandchildren; twenty- eight great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by four siblings, Paul, Charles, Ida and Leon Hebert.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on March 31 at St. John The Evangelist Church in Northfield. Burial will take place this May in the West Hill Cemetery in Williamstown.

Donations may be made in her memory to St. John The Evangelist or St. Edward’s Catholic Church, 206 Vine St., Northfield, VT 05663.

Kingston Funeral Home in Northfield is in charge of the arrangements.
