Norwich’s Relay For Life Announces 2010 Schedule & Keynoter
The Relay for Life Committee at Norwich University has announced its 2010 schedule and keynote speaker.
Rowly Brucken, a Norwich professor of history and Northfield resident, will speak at the Opening Ceremony for the Relay in the Shapiro Field House on Saturday May 1st at 5 p.m.
The 2010 Relay for Life at Norwich University will take place May 1 and 2 at the Shapiro Field House from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. with a birthday party theme. Registration is from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.
There will be a Survivor Reception immediately following the first lap of the Relay which consists of survivors and caregivers, will take place after the opening ceremony.
The Luminaria ceremony will be held at 8:00 p.m. and a Fight Back ceremony will be held at 10 p.m.
At midnight participants will take part in a Milestone ceremony and the closing ceremony will be at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday morning.
The event welcomes Northfield area residents. There is a full entertainment schedule that includes all-night music, balloon toss, dance contest, tug-of-war and Frisbee.
The Relay is an overnight fundraiser reminding us that cancer doesn’t sleep and for this one night participants in the event won’t either.
