A new book on the Civil War is soon to be published about the effects of the war on Williamstown.

Paul Zeller’s book “Williamstown in the Civil War” will be published by the History Press and is scheduled to come to book stores this fall.

“This is exciting news and a huge contribution to the culture of the community,” said Becky Watson, president of the Williamstown Historical Society.

“Paul has worked very hard and will be looking for help from all--looking for pictures, writing our own family histories, etc.,” she added.

Profits from the book will benefit the Williamstown Historical Society she said.

Now that spring is here, we are getting ready to open the museum building and have some work days scheduled: Wed., May 5 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. on May 10 work will be done all day.

All are invited to come and have fun anytime and help with gardens, windows, painting, moving, collection organizing, painting and cleaning.
