Renowned Engineering Author & Teacher To Become Dean of Crawford School At Norwich
Dr. Saeed Moaveni
Norwich University officials have announced a new dean for the school of engineering.
He will be Saeed Moaveni, Ph.D., P.E. who has accepted an offer to serve as dean of the David Crawford School of Engineering at Norwich University beginning in August.
Dr. Moaveni has served on the Minnesota State University faculty since 1990 in roles of assistant professor, associate professor, professor, graduate coordinator as well as chair of the Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering.
He earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University, a M.S. in Engineering Systems from the University of Louisiana, and a B.S.M.E. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Louisiana.
Dr. Moaveni was the recipient of the 1994 American Society for Engineering Education/Dow Chemical (ASEE/DOW) Outstanding Young Faculty Award.
He has written two engineering textbooks and is currently working on two additional books, scheduled to be released for publication in 2010 and 2011.
Engineering Fundamentals by Dr. Saeed Moaveni is a standard college text book and has been sold in multiple editions over the years.
He is a current member of the American Society for Engineering Education, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the American Society of Heating, Ventilating & Air Conditioning
